Adenomyosis is an important cause of abnormal uterine bleeding and dysmenorrhea in reproductive aged women. Levonorgestrel intrauterine device (LNG-IUD) is one of the commonly used treatment option in women with Adenomyosis. However, LNG-IUD has a relatively high failure rate in Adenomyosis. Combining Transcervical resection of endometrium (TCRE) with LNG-IUD may reduce the failure rate of LNG-IUD in women with Adenomyosis. This RCT was done to compare the efficacy of combined TCRE and LNG-IUD versus LNG-IUD alone in women with Adenomyosis.
