Steps to reproduce

Molybdenite was dissolved in heated to 80°C in 6ml of ultrapure aqua regia for 12 hours. The solutions were dried and a 100 ppb solution was prepared by adding 0.5molar nitric acid to the salts and diluting. A 1 ppm Mo double spike was added to the rock powders as part of a two-step dissolution process. A 100 mg aliquot of rock powder was dissolved in heated 3 ml of HF for 12 hours and dried, 6ml of aqua regia was added to the dried salts, and dissolution of all the material was confirmed visually.
