Research data for Green finance for resilient and sustainable cities: Evidence from China's pilot-zone reform

Description

This dataset contains the city-level panel data, variable codebook, data-source statement, replication script, and published-result tables used in the manuscript "Green finance for resilient and sustainable cities: Evidence from China's pilot-zone reform". The panel covers 299 Chinese prefecture-level and above cities from 2010 to 2023 and supports the analysis of China's green finance reform and innovation pilot-zone policy, urban resilience, mechanism tests, heterogeneity analysis, robustness checks, and spatial-effect analysis.

Steps to reproduce

The uploaded ZIP file contains the cleaned city-level panel dataset, variable codebook, data-source statement, replication script, requirements file, and published-result tables. To reproduce the main empirical results, unzip the archive, install the Python packages listed in requirements_research_data_SCS.txt, and run reproduce_main_results_SCS.py from the root folder of the extracted dataset. The script reproduces the main descriptive statistics, baseline two-way fixed-effects estimates, double machine learning results, robustness checks, mechanism tests, heterogeneity analysis, spatial-effect tables, and DML prediction diagnostics reported in the manuscript and supplemental material.
