Description

This dataset contains the geomorphometric and geological data supporting the analyses presented in the manuscript “Lithology-Relief Coupling Controls Sediment-Source Organization in Subtropical Coastal Catchments, Southern Brazil”. It includes segment-scale Stream Length–Gradient (SL) calculations for the analyzed river network and geological and lithological information used to characterize the hydrographic units draining into Antonina Bay, southern Brazil. These data correspond to the complete datasets summarized in Appendices A2 and A3 of the manuscript and support the geomorphometric, statistical, and clustering analyses reported in the study.

The segment-scale Stream Length–Gradient (SL) Index was calculated from longitudinal river profiles using fixed elevation intervals and the relationship SL = (ΔH/ΔL) × L, where ΔH is the elevation difference, ΔL is the horizontal length of each segment, and L is the distance from the midpoint of the segment to the channel head. The accompanying spreadsheets provide the input values and calculations for each analyzed river segment. Geological and lithological attributes were compiled from the geological dataset described in the associated manuscript and spatially related to the corresponding hydrographic units and river segments. Detailed methodological procedures are provided in the associated manuscript.
