Semi-Structured Literature Review: Business Process Management
Description
This dataset presents the results of a systematic literature review addressing the development and adoption of Business Process Management (BPM). A total of 92 articles were analyzed. The authors identified BPM environment, business BPM methodology, and process modeling as the main areas of study in this field. From the review, they also traced the prominent relationships between these areas of study and emerging concepts in BPM, such as Industry 4.0, competitive advantage, performance measurement, and SMEs, among others. This version includes the journal and Scimago rankings for each manuscript.

Steps to reproduce
The search equations used for this study included keywords searched across each database included in the study. The study conducted an online search across several scientific publication repositories, including Scopus, Web of Science, Springer, Taylor & Francis, IEEE, and Emerald Insight. METHODOLOGY: The criteria to include a publication comprise (1) published between 2000 and 2024; (2) relationship or references of publication's title, keywords, and abstract with the related variable; (3) methodology; (4) reference or relation to BPM; (5) including or excluding criteria are presented in the document. Furthermore, it includes the analysis of relationships with emerging concepts. All the accepted publications under the previous criteria were discussed among all the contributors to validate the arguments for relating them to the variables under study.
