Description

Attached are DIC output data text files corresponding to monotonic crack growth tests on single edge notch tension specimens. The data corresponds to the first test on stainless steel (first test overall) and the first test on copper (sixth test overall). DIC images were collected at 50 fps. Each text file (i.e., step) corresponds to a single frame. The location of the crack tip at each step was taken to be the location corresponding to the maximum true effective strain. The final step corresponds to the point of fracture. Experimental crack lengths at fracture determined via the DIC data were compared to predicted crack lengths at fracture determined via Griffith's fracture criteria and the entropic fracture criteria developed in the paper.
