Photosynthetic parameters for PE-curves of macroalgae
Description
The dataset contains the following photosynthetic parameters: maximum photosynthesis rate; dark respiration rate; the maximum rate of gross photosynthesis; slope of the curve P(E) at low irradiance. These parameters were determined at a set of seawater temperatures for Ulva spp. and Eriaria crinita/Gongolaria barbata. They allow us to approximately estimate the dependence of the rate of photosynthesis on irradiance P(E).

Steps to reproduce
Photosynthetic and respiration rates were determined by measuring the change in oxygen concentration in a hermetically sealed flask containing the algal sample under different light conditions. Measurements were carried out at irradiance levels of 0, 60, and 270 μmol photons m−2 s−1. The resulting data were used to determine the photosynthesis–irradiance relationship P(E) using the parameterization of Jassby Alan D. , Platt Trevor , (1976). Next, the parameters of the resulting curve were determined: the maximum rates of net and gross photosynthesis, dark respiration rate, slope of the curve at low irradiance.
