Description

Hoult_B_Field_Analysis An extensive introduction to spherical harmonics is given followed by numerous, fully documented Mathematica functions for use mainly in high-homogeneity magnetic field manipulation and analysis. The functions, which range from the trivial to the sophisticated, aid in field modelling and in the analysis of a plotted field in terms of an expansion in an orthonormal basis set of both internal and external spherical harmonics. Hoult_B_Field_Generation A full introduction to the topic and basic field theory of static and pseudo-static magnetic fields is given. Numerous, fully documented Mathematica functions for use chiefly in in high-homogeneity magnetic field generation are then provided. The functions, which range from the trivial to the sophisticated, aid in field modelling and modification, both directly and in terms of expansions in an orthonormal basis set of spherical harmonics.
