2026 Korea Stress DSR Mortgage Limit Examples
Description
This reusable dataset provides illustrative mortgage-limit calculations for South Korea under a 40% bank DSR assumption and 30-year principal-and-interest amortization. The examples compare annual-income and assessment-rate scenarios to show how DSR and interest-rate assumptions can affect an illustrative mortgage limit. These calculations are educational examples rather than individual loan approvals. Actual limits may differ depending on stress DSR rules, existing debt, lender standards, LTV, loan type, repayment method and applicable housing-finance policies. Steps to reproduce
1. Set the annual income for the example borrower. 2. Apply a 40% annual DSR debt-service ceiling. 3. Divide the annual debt-service ceiling by 12 to obtain monthly debt-service capacity. 4. Apply the stated assessment rate and a 30-year principal-and-interest amortization term. 5. Derive the illustrative mortgage principal using the standard fixed-payment amortization formula. 6. Where existing debt service applies, subtract it from available DSR capacity before calculating the mortgage amount.
