Recovery of Walking biomechanics after ACL surgical reconstruction
Description
Biomechanics gait analysis data. Three groups of patients with gait biomechanics data were collected. The first group was six months after ACL reconstruction surgery, the second group was a year old, and the third group was over a year old after surgery. Data were collected for two gait speeds: voluntary and fast. Results for each patient and each gait speed include spatiotemporal parameters. In addition, goniograms of hip, knee, and ankle flexion-extension during the gait cycle and envelope EMG data for mm. Tibialis anterior, gastrocnemius, quadriceps femoris, and hamstring are provided with a resolution of 200 points. In addition, the affected side is given. All data is arranged in sequence: operated, healthy.

An objective assessment of the gait function was performed instrumentally using a Steadys gait analysis system (Neurosoft, vanovo, Russia). Seven inertial sensors were attached with elastic retaining bands to the subject’s sacrum, outer side of each thigh, outer side of each lateral malleolus, and each foot instep. Each sensor captured amplitudes of the respective joints and their functional EMGs. Disposable surface electrodes (Mederen, Tel Aviv-Jaffa Israel) were applied. Each of seven inertial sensors had a wireless connection with a computer via aWi-Fi interface. The neural network for gait cycle detection was trained to mark initial contact time based on navigation data. The data was recorded while patients were walking after ACL reconstruction at various times.
