This dataset was developed as part of a randomized controlled trial investigating the effectiveness of supervised telerehabilitation compared with unsupervised home-based pulmonary rehabilitation in individuals diagnosed with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD). The dataset contains demographic characteristics, baseline assessments, post-intervention measurements, and statistical outcomes collected over a six-week rehabilitation programme. The study was designed to determine whether real-time supervision through telecommunication technology provides additional benefits over conventional home exercise programmes in improving pulmonary function, cognition, balance, and functional performance. COPD is a chronic respiratory disorder characterized by persistent airflow limitation, breathlessness, reduced exercise tolerance, and progressive functional decline. Along with pulmonary impairment, individuals frequently experience muscle weakness, impaired balance, cognitive dysfunction, and difficulty performing activities of daily living. Although pulmonary rehabilitation is considered an essential component of COPD management, participation remains limited because many patients encounter barriers such as transportation difficulties, financial constraints, long travelling distances, and inadequate availability of rehabilitation centres. These challenges have increased interest in telerehabilitation as an alternative method of delivering rehabilitation services while maintaining regular communication between healthcare professionals and patients. The present dataset was generated to provide high-quality clinical evidence regarding the effectiveness of supervised telerehabilitation in comparison with unsupervised home-based rehabilitation. Participants were randomly allocated into two intervention groups and completed identical pulmonary rehabilitation programmes for six weeks. The primary difference between groups was the mode of supervision. The telerehabilitation group received live supervision through videoconferencing, whereas the home-based group performed the same exercises independently with the assistance of printed educational material and regular reminder phone calls. The dataset includes information related to participant demographics, pulmonary function, balance, cognition, and functional outcomes recorded before and after completion of the intervention. Pulmonary function was assessed using spirometry, whereas cognition, balance, and activities of daily living were evaluated using standardized and validated assessment tools. The data have been organized to facilitate statistical analysis, reproducibility, and future secondary research.
