Description

Prola et al. show that mitochondria from muscle of Hacd1 knockout mice have altered membranes lipid composition and cristae shape yielding a reduced respiratory efficiency with neither proton leak nor oxidative stress, and consequently leading to an overall increase in energy expenditure that eventually protects against a diet-induced obesity.
