Concentration and persistence of wind curtailment exposure in Brazil: Evidence from official constrained-off records
Description
Para el campo Description de Mendeley Data lo mejor es un texto en prosa, en inglés, que diga qué es el conjunto de datos, qué contiene, de dónde sale y el periodo. Aquí tienes uno listo para copiar y pegar: This dataset provides the analysis-ready data and replication code for the study "Concentration and persistence of wind curtailment exposure in Brazil: Evidence from official constrained-off records." It supports a distributional analysis of officially recorded wind curtailment (constrained-off) across Brazilian wind plant groups over October 2021–December 2025, including concentration measures (Gini and top-decile shares with bootstrap confidence intervals), persistence of top-decile exposure over time, and a decomposition of curtailment by restriction reason and origin. The deposit contains processed CSV datasets at the plant-group × year and plant-group total levels, system-wide annual totals, restriction-reason/origin breakdowns, a label-to-stable-group crosswalk, installed-capacity data, and matching-coverage audit files. It also includes a self-contained Jupyter notebook that reproduces every table and figure in the manuscript from these files (no internet, Google Drive, or large intermediate files required), a README documenting all variables and sources, and a requirements file. The processed data are derived from two public sources: the half-hourly wind constrained-off records published by the Brazilian National System Operator (ONS) open-data portal, and the generation registry (SIGA) of the Brazilian Electricity Regulatory Agency (ANEEL), used for installed capacity. Raw source files are not redistributed but are openly available; exact URLs and the data-construction procedure are described in the README. Officially recorded curtailment values are subject to ONS's recurrent consistency revisions and were fixed at the time of analysis.
