Description

This dataset is an output of the research and capacity-building project "Awareness and Practices Relating to Zoonoses and Safety among Livestock Farmers in Ghana," funded by the National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) through the Royal Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene (RSTMH) Early Career Grant Awards. The data was collected via an interviewer-led questionnaire survey in three districts of Ghana's Coastal Savannah agroecological zone, capturing information on livestock farmers' sociodemographic characteristics, knowledge, attitudes, and practices regarding zoonoses, farm safety, and management, as well as other relevant factors. Survey data was collected using Kobo Toolbox and exported to Microsoft Excel, where unique identification codes were assigned to ensure participant anonymity and confidentiality. Data analysis was conducted using SPSS 25 (IBM, New York, USA), with descriptive statistics used to examine farmers' socioeconomic characteristics, knowledge, perception, attitude, and practices. Logistic regression analyzed associations between these factors and socioeconomic and farm characteristics. The data set includes the following SPSS files; Survey data: Livestock farmers’ knowledge, attitude, and practices related to zoonosis and safety.sav Data transformation: Syntax1_Variable transformation.sps Data analysis: Syntax2_Awareness of zoonosis and related practices_Tables & Logistic Regressions.sps
