We searched for papers in Scopus and Web of Science databases as they are of most relevance for this area. Using the boolean operator "AND" and treating terms within quotation marks (""). The terms entered were always in English to obtain files published globally. In the Scopus database, a search for articles was conducted on May 14th, 2026, where the following search was performed: "reverse osmosis" AND "greywater" AND "potable". No publication years were specified, but only articles and review papers were selected. The result showed 5 articles. The same search, described in the previous paragraph, was conducted on the Web of Science platform, which yielded 7 matches when the word "potable" was used. The files were exported in BibTeX format, and the articles were combined to check for duplicates using programming in the R® language. 4 duplicate files were found, a total of 8 articles were obtained for analysis. Due to the significant technological advancements in research tools, in addition to the databases available through CAPES CAFe, a search was conducted on May 14th, 2026, using the Litmaps platform in order to identify studies related to the research topic. The search employed the keywords “graywater” AND “characteristics” AND “washing machine” to support the development of the remaining sections of this paper
