Description

The study uses a balanced panel of 14 ECOWAS countries from 2008 to 2024, totaling 238 country-year observations. The dataset combines institutional indicators, rice productivity, seed-use intensity, cultivated area, producer/import rice price ratios, governance variables, household consumption, electricity access, and temperature variability. Data are drawn from ECOWAP/CAADP monitoring records, FAOSTAT, World Development Indicators, and Worldwide Governance Indicators.

Steps to reproduce

Import and merge the country-year datasets for 14 ECOWAS countries covering 2008–2024. Construct the four PIA dimensions and aggregate them using principal component analysis. Generate the transformed variables, including log rice yield, log seed-use intensity, the producer/import price ratio, and temperature variability. Estimate the two-way fixed-effects model with country and year effects and country-clustered standard errors. Apply wild-cluster bootstrap inference with 9,999 replications. Re-estimate the models using Driscoll–Kraay, Prais–Winsten PCSE, pooled CCE, dynamic FE/LSDVC, and lagged specifications. Reproduce the tables, marginal effects, and figures reported in the manuscript.
