Global hospital sound-environment evidence (1969-2026)

Description

Analysis-ready dataset underlying a global synthesis of hospital sound environments. Acoustic measurements, noise sources, health/performance outcomes and personal noise doses were extracted from 405 primary studies (1969-2026) spanning 43 countries/areas across five world regions, identified through a Web of Science Core Collection search (15 January 2026). The dataset supports an evidence-to-decision synthesis: space-level noise levels against WHO guidelines, intervention effects, a space-to-personal exposure bridge, and patient-staff co-benefit prioritisation.
