Description

Subject: Environmental Science, Ecology Specific subject area: This dataset involves the area of forest fires data related to meteorological observations and the fire danger rating system indices. The Akfadou forest topological data and fire risk ranking dataset consist of topological data and fire risk ranking in the Akfadou forest, Algeria. This dataset is related to the Akfadou forest, located in the massif of Djurdjura in Kabylie and encompassing an area of approximately 11,000 ha (110 km2). The Akfadou forest area is focused between two regions: Tizi Ouzou and Bejaia. The Akfadou forest topological data and fire risk ranking dataset includes 1000 instances, it encompasses, mainly the topologic data spanning three factors: slope, elevation, aspect. The dataset contents 9 variables (attributes): topological factors (slope, elevation, aspect and categorical aspect (Categ_asp), the x-axis (X) and y-axis (Y) special coordinates within the Akfadou forest map, and the fire_risk classes: “fire_risk_slope”,”fire_risk_elevation” and ”fire_risk_Aspect”. The topographical features (slope, elevation and aspect) data are extracted from the Digital Elevation Model (DEM) data from the Shuttle Radar Topography Mission (STRM), with 30-m spatial resolution.

Steps to reproduce

-The topographical features (slope, elevation and aspect) data are extracted from the Digital Elevation Model (DEM) data from the Shuttle Radar Topography Mission (STRM), with 30-m spatial resolution. -The fire risk ranking is done according to topological facotors values. Classification critera with 1-7 scale are : extreme, very high, high, moderate, low and very low.
