This datasets refers to the article "Huylenbroeck, L., Latte, N., Lejeune, P., Georges, B., Claessens, H., Michez, A., 2021. What Factors Shape Spatial Distribution of Biomass in Riparian Forests? Insights from a LiDAR Survey over a Large Area" published in Forests MDPI. It includes: 1) a map of aboveground woody biomass in riparian forests in the Semois and Chiers sub-basins (Meuse Catchment, Western Europe), as well as related environmental factors (vegetation age, land use, geomorphology, topography). 2) field measurements of wood volume for Salix spp. (mainly Salix alba x fragilis) and Alnus glutinosa, that can be re-used for tree allometry.
