Dataset on land surface temperature and its influencing environmental factors in the Upper Awash Basin, Ethiopia

Description

This geospatial database gives the land use land cover (LULC) type, land surface temperature (LST), normalized difference vegetation index (NDVI), modified normalized difference water index (MNDWI), normalized difference built-up index (NDBI), normalized difference bareness index (NDBaI), albedo and elevation in the Upper Awash basin of Ethiopia. To extract information, 5446 sample points were randomly selected in the study area using the 'create random points' tool in ArcGIS 10.8 software, and the values of each parameter were extracted for each point using the 'extract multi values to points' tools and the data were used for the analysis of the spatial heterogeneity of LST and factors affecting LST. In addition, this database can be used for various environmental applications, e.g. Modeling of land surface processes and analysis of climate change studies that require spatial information such as LULC, LST, NDVI and other environmental datasets.
