OBTURATION OF SECOND LOWER MOLAR WITH "C" SHAPED ROOT CANAL USING THERMAFIL AND GUTTAFLOW TECHNIQUES: CASE REPORT

C-shaped canals are an anatomical variation observed primarily in mandibular second molars. They present a wide variety of anastomoses and irregular communications that may interfere with the three-dimensional obturation of the root canal system. We present the case of a 51-year-old female patient who attended the Cariology and Endodontics Specialty Clinic at Universidad de San Martín de Porres, presenting with swelling in the sulcus without a fistulous tract at tooth 3.7, mesio-occlusal caries, and apparent pulpal involvement. Clinical and radiographic examination confirmed the diagnosis of pulpal necrosis. Root canal treatment was performed, and during the obturation phase, a combined technique using the Thermafil® and GuttaFlow systems was employed.
