Description
This dataset provides a multidisciplinary collection of research methodology information from published studies across six academic disciplines. It captures key methodological elements, including research approach, research design, sampling strategy, sample size, data collection methods, data analysis methods, software tools, and research paradigm. The dataset is designed to support methodology analysis, comparison across disciplines, and the development and evaluation of data-driven approaches for understanding research methods.

Steps to reproduce
Research articles were retrieved from OpenAlex and Crossref across six disciplines. Records were normalized, deduplicated, screened for retractions and licences, and available full texts were retrieved. Methodology sections were extracted and cleaned before key methodological fields were annotated and verified. Quality checks were then applied to remove unsuitable records and produce the final BDRM dataset.
