The University at Buffalo Eating Among Teens Study (UB EATS) was a two year observational cohort study. Each participant completed 6 laboratory visits over the course of 24 months. The procedures for the first 3 visits have been reported previously.15 Briefly, during the first visit, parents provided written consent and adolescents provided assent. Both parents and adolescents had height and weight measured and completed questionnaires. Adolescents also completed a previous day 24 hour dietary recall, a DD task, and sampled and ranked sedentary activities. At Visits 2 and 3, adolescents completed a computer based task assessing the RVFOOD. In the two weeks in between visits, participants consumed a portion of their preferred snack food daily, verified via text message or written snack food log.
