Description

The data were analyzed and presented in the paper "COVID-19 inpatient care performance in the Unified Health System, São Paulo state, Brazil: an application of hospital standardized mortality rates for comparisons inter and within hospitals over time". The data were obtained from publicly available administrative databases provided by the Ministry of Health and the CIDACS/Fiocruz. The main data source in the study was the Hospital Information System (SIH), which contains information on hospitalizations reimbursed by the SUS. The SIH data were accessed through the website https://datasus.saude.gov.br/transferencia-de-arquivos/. The data were obtained in July 2022. The Brazilian Deprivation Index (BrazilDep) data were obtained from CIDACS/Fiocruz (https://cidacs.bahia.fiocruz.br/ibp/base-de-dados-do-ibp-municipal-esta-disponivel-para-download/). Data from the National Register of Health Establishments (CNES), which provides comprehensive information on health facilities, were extracted from the DATASUS website (https://datasus.saude.gov.br/transferencia-de-arquivos/). Databases were built for each period of the study (February to August/2020 - Banco_Covid_SP1; September to November/2020 - Banco_Covid_SP2; December/2020 to June/2021 - Banco_Covid_SP3; July to November/2021 - Banco_Covid_SP4; December/2021 to February/2022 - Banco _Covid_SP5).
