Description

The spectroscopic properties of the obtained molybdenum blue were studied using a number of spectroscopic methods. Molybdenum blue was synthesized using an original method using mechanically activated molybdenum disulfide MoS2 (a source of molybdenum) and lactose (an organic reducing agent). Characteristic shifts of molybdenum blue were determined using 17O and 95Mo nuclei. The obtained samples were analyzed on a Nicolet 5700 FTIR spectrometer (4 cm-1 resolution, 64 sample scans) in the 4000–400 cm-1 range in NaCl-containing cuvettes with a 10 mm absorbing layer thickness. The study was conducted using a Bruker AV-600 NMR spectrometer operating at resonant frequencies of 17O - 81.36 MHz, 95Mo - 39.11 MHz. Visible spectroscopy was performed on an SF-2000 spectrophotometer (the permissible absolute error limits for wavelength setting were ±0.8 nm in the 390.0 to 1000.0 nm range). The measurement range was 400 to 1000 nm with a 0.2 nm increment.
