This dataset accompanies the manuscript “From Hurricane Irma to the Late Holocene: A Spatial Framework for Reconstructing Hurricane Variability in Southwest Florida.” It contains standardized z-score proxy data and raw microfossil counts from 125-cm sediment core CHB-1, collected from a mangrove-fringed back-barrier lagoon in Estero Bay, southwest Florida. The data include grain size, loss-on-ignition, charcoal, dinoflagellates, and foraminifera used to identify the Hurricane Irma overwash deposit and reconstruct late-Holocene hurricane variability over approximately the past 1,000 years.
