AI and Information Management
Description
Financial services are being transformed by Artificial Intelligence and the importance of information management is growing in translating technology capabilities into organizational outcomes. The study maps the development, intellectual links and thematic structure of research linking artificial intelligence and information management in financial services. A bibliometric analysis was carried out for 280 articles indexed in Scopus, published from 2016 to September 2026. For performance analysis and science mapping, Bibliometrix and VOSviewer were used. The analysis included publication trends, citation patterns, contributing journals, collaboration among authors, relationships among keywords, and theme evolution. The results indicate a significant rise in publications with 217 articles published in the years 2024-2026, the last year being still incomplete. 217 sources, 1194 authors are involved in the research. 27.86% of the publications are international collaborations. In the keywords landscape, artificial intelligence, information management and machine learning reign supreme, followed by risk management, data quality and governance. Citation attention is highly focused, but thematic links suggest opportunities to combine computational approaches with company information practices . Interpretation is constrained by inconsistent terminology, possibly irrelevant records, and incomplete cited-reference metadata. The study offers a research agenda on longitudinal evaluation, information management capabilities, governance, and responsible financial applications. This offers a tentative basis for exploring the contribution of artificial intelligence to enhancing decision quality and institutional performance via complementary organizational information processes.
