Description

This dataset supports the review article “Nozzle-Based Expansion Cooling in Gaseous Systems: A Review of Cooling Regimes, Applications and Research Gaps”. It contains bibliographic metadata and the final classification of 124 peer-reviewed journal articles identified through Scopus and Web of Science and published or available online between 2005 and 2025. The studies are classified according to flow regime, cooling regime, nozzle type, main phenomenon, cooling objective, nozzle role, methodology, and application domain. The workbook comprises a README, the included-study dataset, consistency checks reproducing the main descriptive totals reported in the manuscript, and a codebook defining the fields and classification categories. The exact database search queries are provided in Appendix A of the manuscript.
