Inner_Mongolia_cattle_panel_data_2010_2023
Description
This dataset contains a balanced panel of 12 prefecture-level administrative units (leagues and prefecture-level cities) in Inner Mongolia, China, covering the period 2010–2023. The dataset includes cattle stock, sheep stock, total sown area, grain sown area, cash-crop sown area, real GDP per capita, population, and urbanization-related variables. The data were compiled from the Inner Mongolia Statistical Yearbook and prefecture-level statistical yearbooks and were processed for the spatial econometric analysis reported in the related study on the spatial restructuring of cattle production and cropland-derived feed resources in Inner Mongolia. The dataset contains 168 prefecture-year observations.

The dataset was organized as a balanced panel of 12 prefecture-level administrative units for 2010–2023. Variables were compiled from the Inner Mongolia Statistical Yearbook and prefecture-level statistical yearbooks. The analysis used cattle stock as the dependent variable and total sown area, grain sown area, and cash-crop sown area as the main explanatory variables, with sheep stock, real GDP per capita, and urbanization rate as controls. Spatial analyses were conducted in R using a queen-contiguity spatial weights matrix. Global Moran's I, LISA cluster analysis, and spatial lag panel models were applied. An inverse-distance spatial weights matrix was also used for robustness checks.
