Description

Presented data were analyzed in the manuscript titled: "Simple programming algorithms in advanced rotational metal forming processes-supplementary information" ***Attachment 1, a set of points defining the geometry of an axially asymmetrical mandrel*** Spreadsheet containing data of Axially Asymmetrical Mandrel and Roller with circumference 50 mm. The data includes: Rotation angle i (°) - this is the angle of clockwise rotation during the process of Rotational Metal Forming of Axially Asymmetrical part. Angle increment i (°) - this is the value of angle increment between steps (i + 1) - i. Geometry (mm) - distance of mandrels edge measured from the center of rotation. Roller position in G90 - this is position of roller in absolute positioning system in CNC machine. Roller position in G91 - this is position of roller in incremental positioning system in CNC machine. Angle α (°) - this is the angle between the front surface of the axially asymmetrical mandrel and slant height at angle i. ***Attachment 2, a set of commands for programming a single rotation of an axially asymmetrical mandrel in the G90 absolute positioning system*** Spreadsheet containing a fragment of CNC code synchronising the roller position in relation to the rotation of the mandrel for a full rotation, without feed along the z axis. Values are adjusted for G90 positioning system. The data includes: C - command programming angular position of the mandrel. X - command programming roller position along x axis. Z - command programming roller position along z axis. ***Attachment 3, a set of commands for programming a single rotation of an axially asymmetrical mandrel in the G91 incremental positioning system*** Spreadsheet containing a fragment of CNC code synchronising the roller position in relation to the rotation of the mandrel for a full rotation, without feed along the z axis. Values are adjusted for G91 positioning system. The data includes: C - command programming angular increment of the mandrel. X - command programming roller increment along x axis. Z - command programming roller increment along z axis. ***Attachment 4, STEP model of the axially asymmetrical mandrel analysed in the article*** STEP file with geometry of Axially Asymmetrical Mandrel used in research of Rotational Metal Forming Axially Asymmetrical process. ***Attachment 5, technical drawing of axially asymmetrical mandrel*** PDF file with geometry of Axially Asymmetrical Mandrel used in research of Rotational Metal Forming Axially Asymmetrical process. Steps to reproduce

The data presented are points coordinating the position of the spinning roller in the spinning process of an axisymmetric product. Sets of spinning tool position points depending on the rotation of the axisymmetric mandrel are presented. The points were obtained using sketches and a design study in SolidWorks. The data were generated with the condition of tangential contact between the roller and the mandrel. The application of this condition takes into account the change in position of the forming zone as a function of mandrel rotation.
