Description

This dataset is related to the “Epigenetic fingerprint of the SARS-CoV-2 infection in the lung of lethal COVID-19”study (PMID: 37914026; DOI: 10.1016/j.chest.2023.10.032) , where we interrogated the DNA methylation landscape from lung autopsies of 36 patients who died of SARS-CoV-2 infection vs 18 control individuals. Information included in this dataset: 1. Differentially methylated CpG sites in COVID-19 vs control group. 2. Differentially methylated CpG sites in chronic vs acute diffuse alveolar damage (DAD) from EPILUNG signature in COVID-19 group. 3. Differentially methylated CpG sites within coding genes between COVID-19 and control groups. 4. Differentially methylated CpG sites within coding genes in COVID-19 vs control groups that significantly correlate with gene expression. 5. Enrichment analysis results from the 160 genes differentially methylated in COVID-19 vs control groups that shown a significant correlation between methylation and expression.
