Description

Autonomous Vehicles (AVs) are being extensively tested on the public roads in several states in the USA, such as California, Florida, Nevada and Texas. AV utilisation is expected to increase into the future, given rapid advancement and development in sensing and navigation technologies. For the transparent deployment of AVs in California, California Department of Motor Vehicles (CA DMV) commissioned AV manufacturers to draft and publish reports on disengagements and crashes. The data is in the form of reports that need to be processed before running any analysis. This data set contains processed crash and disengagement data. Additionally, supplementary information such as land-use characteristics and shapefiles are also provided. This data is updated every year since CA DMV publishes new data annually. The processed data, along with the supplementary data, will assist in accelerating the research in this area.
