Rachel Lin, , Description
Backward extension of the neck can reduce tension lines for removals along the posterior neck or superior back. As seen in this video, asking patients to tilt their heads slightly backward can provide mechanical assistance to closure. Full extension is unnecessary, as closure in this position may cause excess tension upon returning to a neutral position.
