Description

In this article we describe how dermatologists’ approach and manage patients with vitiligo in a real-life setting and compare these results with the approach that international guidelines and consensus propose. Our objective was to assess Argentinian dermatologists’ attitude towards vitiligo management and to evaluate their adherence to international guidelines recommendations. An observational, cross-sectional study using an anonymous, voluntary survey specifically designed by the authors, which was delivered by email to dermatologists from the Sociedad Argentina de Dermatología, between March 1, 2024, and May 30, 2024. The data related to the physician's years of experience, vitiligo history, and comorbidities researched by the dermatologist during the initial interview with the patient, type of laboratory tests required at diagnosis, frequency of skin biopsy performance to assess the diagnosis, usage of tools to document the disease and treatment decisions, was collected through a survey
