Raw data on uterine fluid proteomics in buffaloes

Description

These data are related to a study that aimed to compare the uterine fluid (UF) of pregnant and non-pregnant buffaloes and describe the relationship between embryo and uterus during early pregnancy. Forty-four females were submitted to a hormonal estrus synchronization and randomly divided into two groups: pregnant (n = 30) and non-pregnant (n = 14). The pregnant group was artificially inseminated and divided into two groups: P12 (n = 15) and P18 (n = 15), in which embryo and uterine fluid samples were collected 12 and 18 days after the insemination during slaughter. The non-pregnant group was also redivided into two groups at the synchronization end: NP12 (n = 7) and NP18 (n = 7). The UF samples were processed for proteomic analysis. Samples were prepared for proteomics (ESI Q-TOF MS/MS).

Steps to reproduce

The MetaboAnalyst 5.0 software (https://www.metaboanalyst.ca/) was used for the multivariate analysis, using principal components analysis (PCA), and partial least squares discriminant analysis (PLS-DA), which generated a variable importance in projection (VIP score). The PCA was used to describe the protein clusters in the tissue analyzed, using a hierarchical cluster. The results found in the VIP score (cutoff α > 2) were compared with the results of the ANOVA followed by Fisher's test. The UniprotKB databases (www.UniProt.org.br) and the PANTHER classification system (www.pantherdb.org) to analyze the terms of gene ontology, and the Venn diagram represented the number of proteins found in each group (http://bioinfogp.cnb.csic.es/tools/venny/).
