Trajectories of Instructional Belief Change in Preservice Elementary Mathematics Teachers: What Replicates, and What the Analytic Specification Decides
Description
This dataset accompanies a replication study examining belief change among preservice elementary teachers across a semester-long mathematics methods course. Data were collected from 83 preservice elementary teachers at five timepoints: Week 1, Week 4, Week 7, Week 10, and Week 13 of the course, using a self-report survey instrument measuring student-centered and teacher-centered beliefs about mathematics teaching. In addition to the repeated-measures survey data, semi-structured interview data were collected from a subset of participants to provide qualitative context on reported belief change. The dataset includes the raw survey response data across all five measurement occasions, participant identifiers (anonymized), and demographic/background variables. A codebook is provided describing each survey item, its wording, response scale, and corresponding variable name, to support reuse and reanalysis of the data.
