Raw data on friction of synthetic olivine-antigorite gouge
Description
This dataset comprises the raw experimental data supporting the research article "Mature serpentinized faults cannot host depth-dependent slow earthquakes". The data were obtained from a suite of 11 friction experiments conducted on synthetic fault gouges composed of antigorite and olivine mixtures, with compositions ranging from 0 to 100 vol.% antigorite. All experiments were performed under constant hydrothermal conditions: 500 °C, 150 MPa confining pressure, and 100 MPa pore fluid pressure. The data are provided in ASCII/text format and include time, axial displacement, axial load, and so on. These raw data are the foundation for calculating the friction coefficient, identifying slow stick-slip events, and analyzing the frictional stability parameters (e.g., (a-b)) as a function of composition.
