Gun Violence in New Jersey
Description
All over the world, people are victims of gun violence. In the US, since the beginning of 2023, 18,452 people have died because of this, and this number is constantly growing. Although New Jersey has a lower gun violence rate than other states due to strict gun laws (e.g., permission and background checks), there are still people who can buy guns in neighboring states with more lenient laws. The initial datasets were collected from the Gun Violence Archive, which is constantly updating gun attacks in the United States. This database lists dates of incidents, cities, states, addresses, number of injured and killed victims, and whether suspects were killed, injured, or arrested. Data were sampled for New Jersey for February and March 2023 with GVA Reports.
