Consumer survey on reusable packaging for takeaways in India
Description
Consumer convenience is a key driver to the success of a food delivery or a quick service restaurant and to understand current consumer preferences towards "reusable packaging" we undertook a consumer survey (n=400) across three metro cities in India where online food ordering is concentrated. The survey indicates that over 90% of respondents have a strong acceptance towards reusable packaging for food and beverage products. 76% of the respondents are willing to either pay to get the food packaging containers collected or walk down to a drop-off point to drop the container. 85% of the consumers believe the government should intervene to either ban or at least charge additional for single use containers The survey also identified challenges across washing and hygiene as limiting factors towards adoption of reusable packaging
