This is an experimental, randomized, single-blind study. A total of 32 healthy, physically active volunteers were randomly assigned to one of two independent groups who performed isometric (GISM, N=16, 8 Males/8 Females) or isotonic (GIST, N=16, 8 Males/8 Females) exercise protocols for the Sural Triceps preceded by the application of real PBM and Sham with a one-week washout. The subjects were evaluated by infrared thermography (IT), isometric muscle strength (IMS), pain and rating of perceived exertion (RPE), before, during and after performing the experimental protocols.
