This database contains raw data from biochar-concrete beams tested at the University of Alberta in 2025. Steps to reproduce

See "Experimental Evaluation of Biochar as Supplementary Cementitious Material in Reinforced Concrete" for specific details on the test plan and photos of the construction/testing process. - Concrete batched in-house using 250L high shear mixer. Beyond biochar materials, all other concrete ingredients sourced locally (Edmonton, Alberta). Trial batching of concrete was performed previously to assess viable mixtures. - Reinforcement cages and forms were constructed by student with stirrups bent by bar supplier. - Beams tested under four-point bending using displacement control. A 6100 kN capacity machine was utilized for this task as it was available. - Sensors (load cell, strain gauges, cable-transducers, and LVDTs) calibrated per manufacturer instructions with a computer DAQ system.
