Factors of relationship quality/SWLS
Description
The aim of the study was to investigate the effective factors of relationship quality on the basis of rereports from both partners concerning their relationships. The study was conducted on a group of 500 heterosexual couples. Separate linear regression models for female and male partners were estimated. These two distinct models provided different results suggesting that the perception of relationship quality may be shaped differently between female and male partners depending on financial management and interactional factors. Behavior related to financial management, shared goals, values, and the other partners’ engagement in the discussion process are all important factors in the reported quality of a relationship and play different roles in the case of the female and the male members of a couple. The obtained results provide an insight into difficulties experienced in relationships and indicate the importance of the roles assumed in various areas of financial management.
