Statistical Analysis of Tropical Cyclone Trends & El Niño Southern Oscillation Linkages over the North Indian Ocean Region

This repository contains the core observational and statistical variables used to analyze tropical cyclone (TC) activity and long-term trends within the North Indian Ocean (NIO) basin and their relationship with the El Niño-Southern Oscillation (ENSO) climate phenomenon. The data includes: Tropical Cyclone Records: Annual counts, accumulated cyclone energy (ACE) values, tracks, maximum sustained wind speeds, and classifications for all TCs in the NIO (Bay of Bengal and Arabian Sea). ENSO Indices: Monthly or seasonal values for key ENSO indicators (e.g., Sea Surface Temperature anomalies for Niño 3.4 or the Southern Oscillation Index/SOI). Statistical Outputs: Time-series data and summary tables of derived statistical metrics used for correlation and trend analysis (e.g., regression coefficients, standardized anomaly indices). along with it a IPYNB file containing the code has been shared. The IPYNB file contains the actual study conducted and its insights.
