The proposed NucleiSegNet architecture was trained and evaluated using two different histopathology datasets. We refer to them as “KMC liver” and “Kumar dataset”. We introduced the new KMC liver dataset. It comprises 80 H&E stained histopathology images that were collected by pathologists at KMC Mangalore, MAHE, Manipal, India, for a single organ—that is, the liver. All the dataset's slides were visualized at the same 40x microscopic zooms with an Olympus scanner and subsequently converted into digital images and then stored. Each image size is 8.31 MB, and the dimension is 1920 × 1440. The ground-truth images for H&E stained KMC liver cancer histopathology images were annotated by an experienced pathologist.
