This dataset comprised oceanographic data collected by an oceanographic buoy off the coast of Terengganu in the southern South China Sea (SCS) at 4.87 °N and 104.83 °E as part of a collaboration between Universiti Malaysia Terengganu (Malaysia) and the First Institute of Oceanography (China). The dataset includes surface sea water temperature, surface sea water salinity, and eastward and northward sea water velocities recorded from the surface to the bottom.
