Description

Concentration and stable isotopic composition of Sr in dissolved and adsorbed phases during adsorption experiments. Different conditions, such as adsorption time, initial Sr concentration, pH, and ionic strength, were set in the experiments. The equilibrium fractionation better describes liquid-solid Sr isotope fractionation during adsorption by Mn oxides, and the fractionation in synthetic seawater is consistent with the Sr isotopic offset between seawater and ferromanganese nodules, indicating that adsorption of Sr by Mn oxides is the dominant process of Sr enrichment in ferromanganese deposits.
