Description

01 – Institutional Research Authorisation (PDF) Official document issued by the Directorate of the Polytechnic Institute of Cabinda, formally granting permission to conduct the research as part of the Master's programme in Mathematics Education. It confirms institutional support for data collection and implementation of the pedagogical intervention. 02 – Original Appendices in Portuguese (PDF) Complete set of research instruments in Portuguese, including: Classroom observation sheet Teacher questionnaire (Polytechnic and PUNIV) Student questionnaire (10th and 11th grade) Interview guide for teachers Pre-test and post-test applied to students Teacher evaluation form regarding the intervention 03 – Translated Appendices in English (PDF) Faithful English translation of the original Portuguese appendices. Ensures accessibility for international readers and preserves the structure and content of the original instruments. 04 – Complete Lesson Plan (PDF) Detailed documentation of the pedagogical intervention, structured according to Galperin’s developmental stages and enriched with CLO and UDL principles. Includes practical activities using GeoGebra and Desmos, differentiation strategies, formative assessment tools, and teacher reflection prompts. 05 – Student Satisfaction Questionnaire (PDF) Instrument used to assess students’ satisfaction with the Galperin-based methodology. Contains 10 closed items rated on a 1–10 scale, covering various instructional dimensions, and 3 open-ended questions for qualitative feedback. 06 – SPSS Raw Dataset (.sav) Raw data file used for statistical analysis. Includes: Pre- and post-test results Conceptual error indicators Student level, gender, and individual scores Satisfaction ratings Enables replication and further exploration of the study’s quantitative findings. 07 – SPSS Output Report (PDF) Statistical output generated from the SPSS dataset. Presents: Frequency tables of common errors Crosstab analyses by grade level Chi-square and t-test results Evidence of the intervention’s impact on student performance

Steps to reproduce

To replicate the study and its findings, follow the steps below: Access the Repository Download all supplementary materials from the designated data repository (link provided in the Data Availability Statement section). Review the Research Instruments Examine the original and translated appendices, which include observation sheets, questionnaires, interview guides, and pre/post-tests. Review the complete lesson plan to understand the structure and implementation of the pedagogical intervention. Prepare the Learning Environment Ensure access to GeoGebra and Desmos for classroom activities. Use the lesson plan to guide instruction, following Galperin’s stages and integrating CLO and UDL principles. Apply the Intervention Implement the lesson with students in two sessions: one for the pre-test and one for the post-test. Use the same instruments and procedures as described in the appendices. Collect Data Administer the pre- and post-tests to students. Apply the student satisfaction questionnaire after the intervention. Optionally, conduct classroom observations and teacher interviews using the provided guides. Analyse the Data Use the provided SPSS dataset (absolute_value_study_SPSS 2025.sav) or the Excel version to perform statistical analysis. Refer to the SPSS output report (Output1_2025.pdf) for reference on statistical procedures (frequencies, chi-square tests, t-tests). Compare Results Evaluate student performance gains and satisfaction levels. Compare findings with those reported in the article to assess consistency and validity.
