- Data for: The Tough, the Wet and the Hidden: Evolutionary Strategies of a Tropical Tree in a Changing EnvironmentThis is the data set used in the study "The Tough, the Wet and the Hidden: Evolutionary Strategies of a Tropical Tree in a Changing Environment" (Zigelski et al.). We used the polymorphic species complex Syzygium guineense s.l. (Myrtaceae) to investigate the interrelations between genetic structure, spatial distances, phenotypic variation and environmental factors. Using STRUCTURE analysis of dominantly coded SSR data, and subsequent PCoA, PERMANOVA, PAM clustering, RLQ and fourth-corner analyses, we were able to identify multiple ecotypes that represent distinct evolutionary strategies to past environmental changes in South-Central Africa.

- Demographic data of populations of Primula veris from Flanders (northern Belgium)Demographic data of 24 populations of Primula veris (Primulaceae) from Westhoek and Voeren (Flanders, northern Belgium) collected in 2000. More details on the populations can be found in F. Van Rossum, S. Campos De Sousa & L. Triest. 2004. Genetic consequences of habitat fragmentation in an agricultural landscape on the common Primula veris, and comparison with its rare congener, P. vulgaris. Conservation Genetics, 5: 231-245.
