Construct Validity of Short-Form General Self-Efficacy Scales in Profiling Disability Burden: A Cross-Version Cluster-Analytic Approach

In this study, two-step clustering was used to establish structural convergence between the General Self-Efficacy Scale (GSES) and six shortened forms of this scale among people with and without disability.

Steps to reproduce

This cross-sectional study used sequential two-step cluster analyses to classify community-dwelling adults with and without acquired movement disabilities (N = 120; 50% female) according to the GSES and its shortened forms. Classification agreement (construct convergence) was assessed using Cohen’s kappa. Know-group and criterion validities were examined through associations with clustering variables, life satisfaction, and health locus of control.
