Description

This dataset contains the coding sequences of the 8532 L. infantum protein-coding genes annotated to date. The current version of the L. infantum (JPCM5 strain) genome was published in 2017 (González-de la Fuente et al., PMID: 29273719). Since then, it has been incorporated into different databases: NCBI, ENA, UniProt, TriTrypDB, among others. Although the genome sequence remains the same, gene annotations have been improved by incorporating information derived from transcriptomics and proteomics studies, and bibliographic sources of articles in which particular genes/proteins were analyzed. The process following in updating the annotations has been described in the article by Camacho et al (2023. Leishmania infantum (JPCM5) Transcriptome, Gene Models and Resources for an Active Curation of Gene Annotations. Genes (Basel). 14, 866; PMID: 37107624). The archive linked to this Mendeley data entry is a Fasta file. For most of the protein-coding genes, individual entries have been created in the Mendeley data and Wikidata repositories and are searchable either by gene ID or protein name.
